Vaughan is a native New Yorker, spending most of his life there. The large majority of his friends are female and he has spent his time over the years giving uplifting advice and helping their self esteem when it comes to their men issues and prides himself on being a good listener.

Vaughan says "to understand someone, first you must be able to listen to them. not hear them, but listen and look through their eye's, this is the only way to understand how someone is feeling".
